It's the little things in life
Marc and I had dinner at Nidda last Saturday. We feasted on curry duck and Tom Yum soup, but the pièce de résistance was the sticky rice with mango for dessert. It was light and sweet and reminded me of a tropical rice pudding. I went out the next day to HEB and bought mangos and sticky rice of my own. The mangos are still in the ripening stage, but I will share my sticky rice and mango making adventure when they are ready.
Alas, the joy that the delicious Thai food bestowed upon me was not to last. I discovered that Jane Magazine will release its final issue in August. It's a sad day for me, but at least my subscription ran out this month.
I also have a slight obsession with the Toy Watch. You know it must be good if both Oprah and Ellen approve. I'd love one of my own, but it's $250 price tag is too rich for my poor student lifestyle. I had to settle for the cheap Walmart lookalike. Hopefully it won't turn my wrist green.
Right now I'm listening to the new White Stripes album and thinking about buying this album for my collection. I'm also suffering from an unrequited crush on Rufus Wainwright.
