I should be learning the Gard's rumen stitch

My last surgery of the fall semester was last Tuesday. It went really well, and our patient recovered with flying colors. She was a cute, little black lab mix with white spots on her legs and little white paintbrush tail. She was smart and learned how to climb the stairs on her first day in the clinic. Although she did go down them at a run, crying the whole way because she was scared. A classmate offered to take a picture of her to remember her by, but I'd rather have the mental picture of her with her new family, playing with some kids in a big backyard. I was a little bit worried that the sutures wouldn't be able to hold all the cuteness in, and that her wound would dehisce and rainbows and butterflies would come pouring out. Yeah, she was that cute.

I've got the windows open right now because it is a balmy 76 degrees. My neighbors are watching the Cowboys/Giants football game and screams of pain are wafting through the open window. They must be Giants fans. Next weekend, I am going to the Saints/Texans game in Houston.

A friend accused me of prank calling him on Friday night, as if I would do anything so childish. I was eating icecream and watching Transformers on Friday night anyway. :)

I've been watching a lot of ballet videos on You Tube and Myspace instead of studying. Some favorites are In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated and Petite Mort which I saw a couple of months ago with my mom.

And now I will return to my studies and master the Gard's rumen suture pattern, aka the Utrecht pattern, aka the reverse baseball pattern.

FYI, I'm listening to the new KT Tunstall, Interpol's Antics, and some old school Radiohead, but I need to expand my musical horizons, any suggestions?

Thanks for this video Billy. My favorite shirt is "Internet killed the video star" Classic!

I don't bite...hard.
